Conecta Rio LGPD promotes integration between municipalities to strengthen the culture of personal data protection

Event marks the anniversary of the General Personal Data Protection Law In celebration of the seven years of validity of the General Law on the Protection of Personal Data (Federal Law No. 13.709/18), the City of Rio de Janeiro, through the Municipal Secretariat of Integrity and Transparency (SMIT), in partnership with SEBRAE/RJ, promotes, on August 22, 2025, the Conecta Rio LGPD event.
The initiative aims to bring together municipal public servants from Rio de Janeiro and members of the third sector involved in implementing the law in their institutions to discuss advances, challenges and strategies for consolidating a culture of personal data protection in the State of Rio de Janeiro.
The program will feature lectures and round tables, bringing together prominent names in the field, such as representatives and experts from the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD), the State Audit Court (TCE-RJ), the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB-RJ), SEBRAE/RJ and the Secretariat of Integrity and Transparency of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro.
"Connecta Rio LGPD is a key platform for strengthening collaboration networks between municipalities. By fostering this exchange, we directly contribute to ensuring that personal data protection is treated seriously and efficiently throughout Rio's public administration," says Rodrigo Corrêa, Municipal Secretary of Integrity and Transparency.
SEBRAE/RJ has distinguished itself as an important partner in promoting a culture of data protection, investing in the ongoing training of its internal teams. The Municipal Secretariat of Integrity and Transparency plays a strategic role in implementing the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) within the agencies and entities of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro, ensuring that public administration advances responsibly, ethically, and respects citizens' privacy.
