The Municipal Data Protection Council and the Municipal Secretariat of Science and Technology sign an agreement to strengthen digital governance and AI in Rio.

Led by the Municipal Secretary of Integrity and Transparency and president of the Municipal Council for Data Protection and Privacy, Rodrigo Corrêa, the Council's third meeting of 2026 was held on June 25th. The meeting also included the participation of the Municipal Secretary of Science and Technology, Gabriel Medina.

During the meeting, the two departments signed a technical cooperation agreement to promote joint actions on the topics of data protection, digital governance, and Artificial Intelligence.

The partnership includes initiatives focused on citizen participation, digital education, responsible innovation, and strengthening collaboration between government, academia, the private sector, and civil society. The agreement was developed with contributions from Working Groups formed by the advisors.
