Coronavirus: See the measures adopted by Rio City Hall this Thursday (17/09) against the pandemic

This week, the Department of Health Surveillance is inspecting 16 movie theaters in the city to check their hygiene and sanitary conditions and compliance with COVID-19 prevention measures. On Wednesday (September 16), technicians from the department inspected 09 theaters in eight establishments in Tijuca, Madureira, Vila da Penha, and Cachambi, in the North Zone; Botafogo and Copacabana, in the South Zone; and Campo Grande and Bungu, in the West Zone. Inspections continue this Thursday (September 30) in movie theaters in Barra da Tijuca and Jacarepaguá, in the West Zone; Ilha do Governador, in the North Zone; and Botafogo, in the South Zone.

The Municipal Guard recorded 23.210 actions against disorder on the coast of the South Zone, in three years and seven months of operation of the Video Patrol Unit, which operates in the Operations Center (COR). The agents who work on the streets have the continuous support of the team that monitors around 80 cameras redirected to reproduce images of the boardwalk and the sand strip, with a focus on the safety of pedestrians, bathers and tourists.

MultiRio is launching a project to improve the literacy process in schools. The Municipal Education Network will gain a new tool to stimulate creativity, logical reasoning and narrative skills in children. Starting on the 21st, “Meias Aventuras” will be on the scene, with the launch of its website, hosted on the municipal company’s portal (www.multirio.rj.gov.br).

The Municipal Department of Culture and the Municipal Council for Cultural Policy will launch the calls for proposals for emergency aid under the Aldir Blanc Law on September 22 and 24. The online meetings will take place via Zoom at 19 pm and registration is open to all professionals in the cultural sector.

CET-Rio informs that on September 20 and 27, 2020, from 10 am to 14 pm, the Rio 450 Tunnel will be closed to vehicle traffic, along its entire length, to enable firefighting training.

Traffic operators will be on site to guide drivers.

The Municipal Health Department reports that the municipal network is currently carrying out the absolute majority of Covid-19 care, as state and private hospitals have closed beds dedicated to treating the disease.

It is also important to highlight that the City of Rio is the only one that maintains a field hospital – the one at Riocentro – in operation, since units from other spheres did not even reach full operation – and that, recently, private partnerships with the government of the State of Rio demobilized field hospitals.

Comlurb carried out more special sanitation operations this Thursday (17/09) in several communities in the city. The initiative, which began in Rocinha on 9/4 and aims to reduce the risk of contamination by the new coronavirus, has already been extended to all 633 communities in the city. The cleaning is done with recycled water and neutral detergent, and hypochlorite in the sprayers.
