Two works for the West Zone: improvements in Vale dos Eucaliptos and sanitation in Santa Cruz

Mayor Eduardo Paes visited two projects this Saturday (13/02) that will improve the lives of residents of the West Zone. One in the Vale dos Eucaliptos area, in Senador Vasconcelos, and the other in the Santa Cruz sewage collector, which will benefit approximately 150 thousand residents of the region with treated sewage. The two interventions are expected to be completed by the end of the first half of this year.

 

In Santa Cruz, accompanied by the municipal secretary of the Environment, Eduardo Cavaliere, and the president of Rio-Águas, Guilherme Campos, the mayor visited the Sewage Treatment Plant (ETE), which currently treats 30 liters of sewage per second. When the main collector is completed, the capacity will increase to 125 liters per second.

 

There will be a total of 19 km of underground collector, which will transport sewage from several sub-neighborhoods in the region to the Santa Cruz ETE. The works are being carried out by the Rio-Águas Foundation, an agency linked to the Municipal Department of the Environment.

 

The trunk collector will receive sewage from locations such as Esplanada do Sol, Zé Pelin, Dreno, Antares Community, Pedrinhas, Slaughterhouse, Vala do Sangue, in Santa Cruz; Três Pontes, Jardim dos Vieiras, Sete de Abril and Gouveia, in Paciência.

 

Before the agenda in Santa Cruz, the mayor and the Infrastructure Secretary, Kátia Souza, accompanied the works in the Vale dos Eucaliptos area, which have 80% of the services completed and will benefit 17 streets, with paving, drainage, sanitation and urbanization of sidewalks.

 

– This project brings a lot of dignity and quality of life to the residents. Before, the streets here were impassable. Now, access is easier – said Kátia Souza.

 

 

 

After listening to the residents' requests, the mayor authorized intervention on four more roads, in addition to the 13 already planned.
