The South Zone Subprefecture, together with the Botafogo Local Executive Management (GEL), began another edition of the Corridors of Excellence program this Wednesday (August 26th) in Flamengo. The action will concentrate services from different municipal bodies on Rua Buarque de Macedo, in the section between Rua do Catete and Praia do Flamengo, in an intensive operation with services scheduled until Friday (August 28th).

The mobilization brings together teams from Comlurb (Rio de Janeiro's municipal cleaning company), the Municipal Secretariat of Conservation, Rioluz (Rio's lighting company), CET-Rio (Rio de Janeiro's traffic engineering company), and the Municipal Guard. Services performed include street cleaning and washing, unclogging drains and sewers, enforcement against illegal parking, tree pruning, public lighting maintenance, and general repairs.

According to the sub-mayor of the South Zone, Pedro Angelito, the initiative expands the capacity to respond to daily challenges and contributes to making urban spaces more organized and well-maintained.

"The Corridors of Excellence were created to promote integrated mobilization, with the goal of fostering a unified intervention in the public spaces of our region. The idea is to unite the efforts of different areas of the City Hall to make the necessary services in that location more agile, organized, and efficient," stated the sub-mayor.

Last week, the program was on Rua Hilário de Gouveia, in the section between Rua Tonelero and Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana, providing integrated urban maintenance and upkeep services.

Each week, one street receives concentrated services over three days, based on requests registered with the 1746 hotline and daily monitoring carried out by the Subprefecture teams.
