The Municipal Guard headquarters was the stage this Wednesday, October 14th, for the ceremony celebrating the National Municipal Guard Day, which took place on October 10th. The first employee to receive the new functional identity card from Commander José Ricardo Soares was guard Luiz Carlos da Cunha, from the School Patrol Group (GRE). In total, 36 employees received, symbolically, representing the Municipal Guard staff, the new documentation during the ceremony.

In a speech to authorities and municipal guards, inspector general José Ricardo Soares highlighted the importance and dedication of employees during the pandemic, health inspection actions, and the challenges faced during his administration.

– I am privileged to have heroes under my command who are working tirelessly in this city during the pandemic. We cannot forget the guards who, unfortunately, lost their lives fighting against Covid-19. Since April, when I took command of the Municipal Guard, I have worked with great enthusiasm and a smile on my face, even in difficult times. During this period, we have made important agreements and partnerships with the Federal Highway Police, Civil Police and Military Police, which will benefit us with specific training, equipment and technology, essential for current and future actions in this city – highlighted the inspector general.

The Seop chief of staff, Marcelo Lage, representing the Secretary of Public Order, Alessandro Pitombeira Carracena, also gave a speech praising the Municipal Guard employees and the current commander of the institution.

– The Municipal Guard troops are a reflection of their commander. And, in this regard, I am happy to be able to work with Commander José Ricardo Soares, who has brought many positive changes to the institution, which is now seen on the national scene as one of the largest Guards in the country – concluded Marcelo Lage.
