Municipal Guard mounts special operation with 424 agents for the All Souls' Day holiday

The Rio Municipal Guard has set up a special urban planning and traffic control operation with 424 guards for the All Souls' Day holiday, on November 2. The operation will begin on the morning of Friday, October 30, with reinforcements in the traffic operation around the Novo Rio Bus Station and in 20 cemeteries in the city.

The operation will involve the employment of 23 guards per day, providing guidance and traffic control around the Novo Rio Bus Station in Santo Cristo, in view of the increased movement of people and vehicles in the area due to the long holiday. In the area surrounding the cemeteries, the actions will begin on the morning of Saturday, the 31st, with preventive patrolling actions.

On Monday, the 2nd, when the number of visitors to the cemeteries increases, the operation will have 146 guards, who will monitor, advise citizens on parking in permitted areas, assist pedestrians with crossing the street, and serve the general public. In addition, the municipal guards will advise visitors on the need to avoid crowds and also on the use of face masks, which is mandatory in the city as a measure to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.
