The Yellow Line - Disclosure / Rio City Hall The agreement signed between the City of Rio and LAMSA regarding the concession of the Yellow Line was approved this Tuesday (17/6) by the president of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Luís Roberto Barroso. With the procedure, the new fare of R$ 3,80, agreed between the parties last week, will come into effect next Friday (20/6).
The new toll rate is 5% lower than the current one (R$4). This value guarantees the viability of the road's operation and all its maintenance, even though it represents less than 40% of the original contract value, which would be higher than R$10 currently.
The fare value may be even lower if there is an increase in demand for vehicles and exploration of additional revenues by LAMSA, such as advertising and contractual innovations.
On the 13th, the City of Rio and LAMSA reached an agreement, after a series of conciliation hearings held within the scope of the STF. With the consensual solution adopted, in addition to the reduction of the toll value, all existing legal actions in the city of Rio regarding the concession of the road will also be extinguished.
