An operation to regulate traffic, carried out by the South Zone Subprefecture in conjunction with the Municipal Secretariat of Public Order (SEOP) and the Local Executive Management, cleared the sidewalks of Rua Sá Ferreira and Ladeira Saint Romain in Copacabana, where agents seized 29 pieces of street vendor equipment that were blocking public access, including 17 carts, eight tricycles, three bicycles, and one parasol. Simultaneously, traffic enforcement resulted in 17 fines for parking in prohibited areas and the removal of two vehicles in violation of traffic laws.

According to the sub-mayor of the South Zone, Pedro Angelito, the enforcement actions will be permanent in order to disseminate the practice of respecting the rules of coexistence and encourage the proper use of public space.

"Our commitment is to strengthen the culture of urban planning and ensure that public space is used responsibly and respectfully. Clear sidewalks mean greater accessibility, safety, and quality of life for residents and visitors," stated the deputy mayor.

The City Hall's inspection schedule will continue continuously throughout the South Zone to prevent new obstructions and ensure the smooth flow of public roads.
