This Wednesday, children admitted to the Souza Aguiar Hospital will have a special Christmas snack. - Photo: Disclosure / SMS When he started working in the radiology department at Hospital Municipal Jesus 38 years ago, Evaldo de Lima never imagined that he would make a difference in the lives of young patients beyond his work as a healthcare professional. Since 2013, Evaldo has also been Santa Claus, bringing joy to children at Christmas and bringing hope to their parents and families. This morning, that hope was renewed, especially in a year when the need for social distancing has changed the way we interact and restricted celebrations.
With donated and sanitized gifts, Evaldo, or rather, Santa Claus, celebrated the party at the hospital. “I count on the help of the entire hospital team for this incredible work. They are doctors, nurses, technicians, laboratory professionals, in short, everyone united to make this date have a greater meaning, with much joy,” celebrates the professional. “It is also gratifying to see that we managed to put a smile on the faces of mothers, who are filled with hope and pose for photos with their children,” he adds.
Tomorrow, the Christmas tribute will be for the little patients hospitalized in the pediatric ward of the Souza Aguiar Hospital. The unit's nutrition team prepared special snacks, which will be served in a very playful way – the professionals recycled donated ice cream tubs and transformed them into Santa Clauses filled with the special snack.
