Piscinão de Ramos will receive maintenance services starting this Wednesday - Press Release / Rio-Águas Foundation

The Rio-Águas Foundation begins maintenance work this Wednesday (August 5th) at the Piscinão de Ramos, in the North Zone of the city. In preparation for the summer, the lake will need to be emptied for cleaning of the bottom.

– It's a routine service to prepare the Piscinão de Ramos for the summer. Cleaning the bottom must be done with it empty and helps maintain the water quality of this leisure area so popular with locals and tourists – emphasizes the president of the Rio-Águas Foundation, João Telles.

The work includes cleaning the bottom, removing debris, and disinfecting the sand. Completion is expected in the first half of September.

The Piscinão de Ramos is supplied with 30 million liters of water from Guanabara Bay, which is treated at the Piscinão de Ramos Water Treatment Plant. The treatment is done daily and the water quality is constantly monitored.

The Rio-Águas Foundation is also responsible for treating the water in the saltwater lake, a process carried out in partnership with the concessionaire Águas do Rio.
