Rio de Janeiro City Hall announced the goals of the 08 Results Agreement this Friday (August 08). The program, similar to the most modern performance management methods used in private companies, rewards employees of departments and agencies who achieve their goals. It is a tool for planning, monitoring, and recognizing the work of employees. The Results Agreement was implemented during Mayor Eduardo Paes' two previous administrations but was suspended between 2025 and 2017. It came back into effect in Rio in 2020 and can award bonuses of up to two salaries.

"I believe that management needs to be well-directed, focused, and planned. This is the working model we adopted during my first two terms and which we will resume in 2022. The Results Agreement challenges public officials and ensures the entire administration follows the path defined in our strategic plan. We have clear goals to achieve, and the Agreement ensures that no one deviates from the main objectives. This is how we have advanced since 2021 in mobility, health, and education projects, and it is with this direction that we will continue to progress," says Mayor Eduardo Paes.

The Results Agreement is one of the main tools established by the Municipal High-Performance Management System (SMGAD), which aims to promote a more efficient, strategic, and results-oriented public administration. Municipal legislation provides for the execution of Results Agreements and Management Contracts, allowing the linking of goals to the performance of municipal agencies.

The entire municipal public administration is committed to pursuing excellence in its activities. This means that municipal services become more agile and efficient, and citizens are better served. The Agreement also serves as a guide for the actions established by the 2025-2028 Strategic Plan and establishes deadlines, ensuring clarity on the desired results for the year.

"The Results Agreement is essential to ensure the implementation of the Strategic Plan's goals. It's a high-level management mechanism that promotes incentives and internal accountability. It creates a virtuous cycle that benefits employees, the municipal administration, and, most importantly, the citizens of Rio," says Deputy Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere.
