Rio de Janeiro City Hall delivers works in the Bairro Maravilha and Conjunto Maravilha neighborhoods.

The mayor of Rio, Eduardo Cavaliere, inaugurated this Sunday (March 22nd) the urbanization work of the Bairro Maravilha Caminho de Tutóia, in Cosmos, and the renovation of the Conjunto Maravilha Parque Realengo, in Padre Miguel, both in the West Zone. Revitalization works also began on three other housing complexes: Vivendas do Ipê Branco and Ipê Amarelo, in Realengo, and Residencial Homero Silva, in Padre Miguel.

– We are here in the West Zone, and we have just inaugurated another Bairro Maravilha (Wonderful Neighborhood). This shows that we have a plan, we have management. This weekend was all about continuity, about delivering services. That's what the population needs to see. To see that this government has a very high approval rating, thanks to its successful policies, such as the BRTs, the Bairro Maravilha projects, the Family Clinics, the five municipalized hospitals throughout this administration, two of which are Federal, and we also recently inaugurated the Super Health Center here in Campo Grande – highlighted the mayor of Rio.

In the Maravilha Caminho de Tutóia neighborhood, an area of ​​12,9 square meters benefited from the works. The streets received 1.143 m of drainage network, 1.301 m of water pipes, 1.747 m of sewage network, 7,4 square meters of paving and 5,5 square meters of sidewalk. In addition, the locality gained São José Square for the leisure and conviviality of the residents. The investment was R$ 5,9 million.

In the West Zone, the Bairro Maravilha program alone has completed 64 projects and resulted in investments exceeding R$ 480 million. The Bairro Maravilha Program is an initiative of the Rio de Janeiro City Hall that brings urbanization and infrastructure, transforming neighborhoods with drainage, sanitation, asphalt, and sidewalk works, improving the quality of life and mobility for thousands of residents.

– This is another project from the Bairro Maravilha program, which completely revitalizes spaces, especially here in the West Zone – highlighted the Secretary of Infrastructure, Wanderson Santos.

He explained that eight streets underwent various interventions, including paving, drainage, water and sewage systems, sidewalks, and recreational areas.

 

Housing complex renovations 

Also in the West Zone, the City Hall delivered the renovated Conjunto Maravilha Parque Realengo, in Padre Miguel. An area of ​​11,4 square meters benefited from the interventions. The buildings were renovated and received improvements to the block walls and fences, new paint, roof upgrades, and upgrades to the water tanks and cisterns. The common areas gained new sidewalks and more leisure options. The playground received new toys, and the multi-sports and footvolley courts were completely revitalized. The investment totaled R$2,4 million.

Three other housing complexes have been included and revitalization works have begun. All three are located in the West Zone: Vivendas do Ipê Branco and Ipê Amarelo, in Realengo, and Residencial Homero Silva, in Padre Miguel. These interventions are also part of the Conjunto Maravilha program, which renovates housing units in the municipality. The works are being carried out by the Municipal Urbanization Company (Rio-Urbe), which is linked to the Municipal Infrastructure Secretariat.

In the Vivendas do Ipê Branco and Ipê Amarelo housing complexes, located in Realengo, a total of 32 blocks will benefit from structural and external area renovations. The services include roof repairs and repainting of facades and walls; restoration of the water tower, hydraulic system, and sewage network; and revitalization of the external area, with the replacement of sidewalks and pavements. The playground will also be renovated for children's enjoyment, and the sports court will be completely revitalized. The total investment is R$11,4 million, and the timeframe for both projects is 10 months.

In the Homero Silva housing complex in Padre Miguel, six blocks will be included in the Conjunto Maravilha program. The planned structural improvements to the buildings include: roof repairs, restoration of the water tower and walls, painting of facades and railings. The leisure and social area of ​​the housing complex will be upgraded with improved lighting, renovation of the playground and sports court, and the installation of new sports equipment. The investment is R$2,4 million and the interventions are expected to take seven months.
