Rio City Hall promoted this Wednesday (28/10) more special hygiene operations in communities in the city

Rio de Janeiro City Hall, through Comlurb, carried out more special sanitation operations this Wednesday (28/10) in several communities in the city. The initiative, which began in Rocinha on 9/4 and aims to reduce the risk of contamination by the new coronavirus, has already been extended to all 633 communities in the city. The cleaning is done with recycled water and neutral detergent, and hypochlorite in the sprayers.

On Wednesday, in the South Zone, Greater Tijuca and Central Area, the service was carried out in the following communities: Bananal, in Muda, Barreira do Vasco and Tuiuti, in São Cristóvão, Cantagalo and Pavão-Pavãozinho, in Copacabana, Cerro Corá and Guararapes, in Cosme Velho, Cotia, in Andaraí, Indiana, Turano and Morro do Cruz (Chácara do Céu), in Tijuca, Jorge da Silva, Matinha and Rôdo, in Rio Comprido, Morro Azul, in Flamengo, Morro do Encontro, in Grajaú, Conquista Park, Quinta do Caju and Our Lady of Penha Park, in Caju, Pereira da Silva, in Laranjeiras, Pio XI, in the Botanical Garden, Quilombola do Sacopã, in Lagoa, São Carlos and Zinco, in Estácio, Tavares Bastos, in Catete, and Rocinha. The staff consisted of 59 street cleaners, with the support of 36 sprayers, four car washes and five water tankers.

In the North Zone, the following communities were included in Wednesday's schedule: Vila Turismo, in Manguinhos; Aimoré; Bernardino Gustavino; Itapé Complex; Wilson Complex; PM Complex; IAPC Complex; Merendiba; Mira, Fonte, Jandu, Itamirim, Itaquá and Itapeaçu Streets; Cascatinha and Virgílio Várzea Villages; in Olaria; Darcy Vargas; Santa Rita Church and Vital Barbosa Square; in Ramos; Xuxa and Jacarezinho Community; in Jacaré; Rato and Céu Azul; in Engenho Novo; Eighth of December; in São Francisco Xavier; Jorge Turco; in Colégio; Rio D'Ouro; in Irajá; Vila de Campinho Community; in Cascadura; Quitanda; in Costa Barros; Ficap; Beira Rio and Terra Encantada; in Pavuna; Alemão (Central Avenue); in the Alemão Complex; and Travessa Dourados; in Cordovil. The services were carried out by 24 street cleaners, with the support of six sprayers and six water tankers.

In the West Zone, the Virgolândia community in Curicica was cleaned by four street cleaners with the support of a sprayer and a water tanker.

The Company continued with special sanitation operations in areas with the highest circulation of people, such as main streets in neighborhoods, bus stops, walkways, areas around hospitals, family clinics and health centers, and access to transportation stations, among others. For these actions, which began on March 23, Comlurb is working with 03 street cleaners with sprayers. In addition, the street cleaners are also sanitizing the areas around Caixa Econômica Federal branches.
