Rio City Hall promoted this Thursday (29/10) more special hygiene operations in communities in the city

Rio de Janeiro City Hall, through Comlurb, carried out more special sanitation operations this Thursday (29/10) in several communities in the city. The initiative, which began in Rocinha on 9/4 and aims to reduce the risk of contamination by the new coronavirus, has already been extended to all 633 communities in the city. The cleaning is done with recycled water and neutral detergent, and hypochlorite in the sprayers.

The service was carried out in the following communities on Thursday in the South Zone, Greater Tijuca and Central Area: Arará, in Benfica; Cantagalo, in Ipanema; Casa Branca and Formiga, in Tijuca; Coroa and Pereira da Silva, in Santa Teresa; Cruzada São Sebastião, in Leblon; Mineira, in Catumbi; Morro da Conceição, in the Center; Morro do PEC and Morro do Pendura Saia, in Paquetá; Pedro Américo and Tavares Bastos, in Catete; Morro do Querosene, in Rio Comprido; Recanto Familiar, in Humaitá; Santo Amaro, in Glória; Tabajaras, in Botafogo/Copacabana; Vidigal and Mangueira. The staff consisted of 45 street cleaners, with the support of 29 sprayers, two car washes and four water tankers.

In the North Zone, the following communities were included in Thursday's schedule: Agrícola and Corea, in Manguinhos, the Community of Engenho da Rainha, Juramentinho, in Tomás Coelho, Morro do Urubu, in Cavalcanti, the Ferroviários Complex, in Pilares/Abolição, Faz-Quem-Quer, in Rocha Miranda, the Iguaiba Community, in Cascadura, the Community of Coelho Neto and Jorge Turco, in Coelho Neto, Alemão (Avenida Central), in the Alemão Complex, the Community of Vigário Geral, and Travessa Santo Antônio, in Marechal Hermes. The services were carried out by 23 street cleaners, with the support of two sprayers and seven water tankers.

In the West Zone, the Santa Luzia community in Recreio was cleaned by four street cleaners, with the support of a sprayer and a water tanker.

The Company continued with special sanitation operations in areas with the highest circulation of people, such as main streets in neighborhoods, bus stops, walkways, areas around hospitals, family clinics and health centers, and access to transportation stations, among others. For these actions, which began on March 23, Comlurb is working with 03 street cleaners with sprayers. In addition, the street cleaners are also sanitizing the areas around Caixa Econômica Federal branches.
