The Rio de Janeiro City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Education, began this week to call on those responsible for the Municipal Education Network to complete external enrollments carried out last month. A new pre-enrollment period was opened, exceptionally this year, to serve new students and students transferred from other networks who wished to enter the municipal public network. 5.995 applications were received via the website matricula.rio throughout the month of August for the segments of Preschool, Elementary School, Youth and Adult Education and Special Education. At this time, internal transfers remain closed.

Parents and guardians are being and will be summoned by telephone or email by the Regional Education Coordinators to appear at the school units to complete the enrollment, in a staggered manner to avoid crowding. Only those guardians with appointments will be seen. Parents and guardians must bring the following documentation: copy of birth certificate, copy of vaccination card for children under 18 years of age and declaration of education.
