The city government, in partnership with Senac RJ, launches the 'Rio of the Future Project' with 4.900 training slots and 188 free courses.

The Rio de Janeiro City Hall, through the Civil House, announces, this Wednesday (February 11th), the largest partnership ever made with Senac RJ, for the “Rio do Futuro” project, a training program for young people and adults. The initiative foresees the offer of 4.900 places for 188 free professional and technical training courses. The courses will cover varied topics, such as artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, technologies and programming, administration, gastronomy and food production, fashion and manual production, as well as hospitality and services.

The partnership includes the municipal secretariats of Science, Technology and Innovation (SMCT), Youth (JUVRio), Policies for Women and Care (SPM-Rio), and the João Goulart Foundation Institute (FJG), which designed the course themes based on the socioeconomic realities and needs of the city's territories.

The courses will be held at Senac RJ units (Copacabana, Barra da Tijuca, Madureira, Campo Grande, Bonsucesso, Irajá, Cinelândia) and at municipal facilities, such as the Knowledge Centers of the Municipal Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation – located in Nova Brasília, Penha, Madureira, Realengo, Engenhão and Padre Miguel –, the Youth Center of the Municipal Secretariat of Youth, and the Women's Centers of Rio, linked to the Municipal Secretariat of Women – including Tia Doca, Dinah Coutinho, Elza Soares and Polo Campo Grande.

Divided among the departments that make up Rio do Futuro, the courses will be offered as follows:

– Municipal Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation: 67 classes for 2.010 places with training such as AI for sales, AI for social networks and Office with AI.

– João Goulart Foundation Institute: 4 classes with 3 courses – aimed at public managers and leaders from Rio de Janeiro – for 100 students, with content such as AI beyond the prompt, AI for productivity, and Power BI.

– Municipal Secretariat for Women's Policies and Care (SPM-Rio): 80 courses for 1.843 students, with training in gastronomy, hospitality, administration, fashion, Artificial Intelligence, and social media.

– Rio de Janeiro Youth Secretariat (JUVRio): 709 vacancies in 15 courses, distributed between the Youth Center, located at Rua Camerino, nº 28, in Gamboa, and the Senac units in Barra da Tijuca and Madureira. Opportunities are available for morning, afternoon, and evening classes. Vacancies are available in areas such as Creative Industry, Administrative Routines, Sales, Artificial Intelligence, Programming, Entrepreneurship, Design, Creativity, Gastronomy, and Confectionery.

The first course of Rio do Futuro begins on February 23rd at the Nave do Conhecimento in Engenhão, and will be promoted by the Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation, with two classes covering the following topics: AI for Sales and Office with AI. The first course of the João Goulart Foundation Institute, aimed at public servants, will begin on March 16th at Senac Cinelândia, with the topic Power BI.

These are the first courses with open enrollment, which can be done through the Oportunidade Carioca platform, the official channel for making courses and training available in the municipality, developed by IplanRio. linkThroughout the year, the departments involved in the project will announce the new courses, including schedules and addresses.

The Rio do Futuro Project is one of the largest professional training initiatives promoted in partnership between the Rio de Janeiro City Hall and Senac RJ. The project reinforces the institutions' commitment to education, employability, and economic development.
