City Hall receives the InovaCidade2025 Award

The City of Rio received the InovaCidade2025 Award, promoted by the Smart City Business Brazil Congress (SCB-Br), which recognizes innovations in the area of ​​smart cities. The award-winning solutions were the Urban Innovation and Collective Intelligence Program, coordinated by the Undersecretary of Digital Transformation and Smart Cities, linked to the Civil House, in conjunction with partners from academia and civil society, and the Extreme Heat Protocol, developed by the Rio Operations Center (COR-Rio) in partnership with the Municipal Health Department.

The protocol for dealing with extreme heat, classified into five levels (NC1 to NC5), determines specific actions to reduce the impact of heat on the population. The award recognizes this unprecedented initiative in Brazil as a significant advance in managing the impacts of climate change in urban areas. The second award highlights the importance of integrating academia, civil society and the public sector in the formulation and review of urban policies, using collective intelligence and promoting the direct involvement of the population.

SCB-Br is considered one of the main meeting points between the public and private sectors, disseminating innovations applied in areas such as smart mobility, energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, risk management and resilience, citizen participation and digital government.
