New Year's Eve Rio 2021 will be paid entirely by the private sector

The City of Rio, through Riotur, announces that SRCOM was the organizing company elected to hold New Year's Eve Rio 2021, which, for the first time, will be paid entirely by the private sector. After three companies submitted their proposals, only SRCOM appeared at Riotur's headquarters last Tuesday, October 27, from 10 am to 18 pm, at the public session, to present its project, as determined by the rules of the Specifications and Counterparts.

After analyzing and evaluating the project, Riotur's Proposal Evaluation and Selection Committee understood that the proposal presented by SRCOM fits perfectly into the new New Year's Eve model that Rio City Hall planned for this New Year's Eve, which takes place amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 2021 celebrations will be held in a different format than the traditional one known to locals and tourists. On New Year's Eve Rio 2021, there will be six stages spread across iconic tourist spots in the city of Rio de Janeiro, but without the presence of an audience, with all areas isolated. The public will be able to watch the shows on television, on an open channel, and on digital platforms, through Riotur's official YouTube channel.

In addition to the shows, this New Year's Eve celebration will feature lights and visual effects that are unprecedented in Brazil, as well as an exciting surprise that will only be announced on New Year's Eve and that everyone will be able to watch from their homes, on television and the Internet. This new model will create an atmosphere of respect, with tributes to the victims of Covid-19 and also to the professionals who are on the front lines of the fight against the pandemic. In addition, the celebration will include, for the first time, an integration of several tourist attractions in the state of Rio during the Rio New Year's Eve.
