This year, the city achieved a score of 98,87 in the National Public Transparency Program (PNTP), an initiative of the Association of Members of the Courts of Accounts of Brazil (Atricon) and the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU), with the support of other Courts of Accounts in the country.
This achievement confirms the city's consistent progress on the agenda of transparency and access to information. The performance represents the continuation of solid progress and reinforces the municipal administration's commitment to delivering more transparent, reliable, and accessible public services to all residents of Rio de Janeiro.
In 2022, the city achieved 86,62% in the evaluation and earned the Gold Seal. In 2023, this result rose to 88,8%, and Rio again won gold. In 2024, there was a significant leap, with the score reaching 98,66%, which guaranteed the capital of Rio de Janeiro its first Diamond Seal in Public Transparency in the PNTP (National Program for Public Transparency).
– The results show that transparency is not just talk: it's action. Winning the Diamond Seal again confirms that the Rio de Janeiro City Hall is committed to ensuring the highest level of transparency. The clearer the government is, the greater the public's trust – stated the Municipal Secretary of Integrity and Transparency, Rodrigo Corrêa.
The confirmation of the Diamond Seal, for two consecutive years, stems from a qualified joint effort by the Rio de Janeiro City Hall, with the implementation of improvements in its transparency processes, expanding the availability of data and developing tools that facilitate access to information.
Among the improvements are the modernization of the Transparency Portal, which included accessibility features and an expansion of the content published. The intuitive navigation, combined with the integrated organization of public data, has made understanding government actions clearer.
Resources such as interactive dashboards, information in simple language, and agile consultation mechanisms allowed society to monitor the application of public resources and the implementation of public policies. Complementary initiatives—such as the Works Dashboard, which presents detailed and up-to-date information on municipal investments—reinforced the City Hall's commitment to integrity, clarity, and social control.
The sequence of high transparency indexes encourages social participation, promotes anti-corruption actions, and contributes to improvements in city management.
