Photo: Disclosure/RioLuz The blood donation campaign “Ó abre alas que eu quero doar” (Open the wings, I want to donate), carried out by RioLuz in partnership with Hemorio, was a success, collecting 40 bags of blood. The event took place on Wednesday (February 12), at the company’s headquarters in Botafogo. Since each bag can save up to four lives, the initiative has the potential to help up to 02 people. With a relaxed atmosphere and a carnival atmosphere, the event attracted residents, workers from the region and RioLuz employees, reinforcing the importance of donating blood. Especially in the pre-Carnival period, when supplies tend to run low.
RioLuz president Rafael Thompson celebrated the success of the action:
– I would like to thank everyone who participated and contributed to this important initiative. Donating blood is an act of solidarity and saves lives. We are happy to be part of this movement and help reinforce Hemorio’s stocks.
Luiz Amorim, general director of Hemorio, emphasized the importance of partnerships like this for maintaining blood stocks.
– This type of action is essential to ensure that we can serve patients who need transfusions. The campaign was a success and we hope that the partnership will continue every year.”
Nina Rosa Barbosa, institutional psychologist at RioLuz and creator of the campaign, highlighted that RioLuz “always has its doors open to Hemorio”.
– It is a partnership that we have a special affection for. We had a carnival atmosphere that made the environment lighter, as we know that some people are afraid to donate. We had all the necessary support and managed to collect 40 bags of blood, a very positive result.
José Leonardo, one of the campaign donors, shared his experience:
– I’ve always wanted to donate blood, and this campaign was the perfect opportunity. Knowing that my donation can save lives makes me very happy. I hope more people are inspired to do the same.
