Throughout this week, important monuments and landmarks in the capital are illuminated in blue, honoring the legacy of the company responsible for the city's public lighting system.
Among the locations receiving stage lighting are Maracanã Stadium, the Arcos da Lapa, the City Council, the Museum of Modern Art (MAM), Penha Church, and RioLuz headquarters. The color blue was chosen to represent technology, trust, and commitment to the city—values that have characterized RioLuz's work for more than three decades.
"These 35 years are a source of pride for the entire RioLuz team, and this initiative is a way to thank the population and reinforce our commitment to a brighter and more welcoming city," highlights RioLuz president Rafael Thompson.
Since its founding in 1989, RioLuz has been working on the expansion, modernization and maintenance of public lighting in Rio de Janeiro, with a focus on technological innovation, sustainability and urban accessibility.
