The actions covered strategic areas of the neighborhood, such as the Bangu Boardwalk and the surroundings of Bangu Shopping.
Technical teams implemented 236 new lighting points, in addition to maintaining 132 existing points and pruning trees around the light fixtures, in 30 sections of the region. The interventions expand lighting coverage, restore structures worn down by time, and reduce critical areas of low visibility.
Modernizing public lighting also directly contributes to strengthening urban security, improving mobility and pedestrian circulation, as well as providing greater operational efficiency to the technical teams working in the area.
According to the president of RioLuz, Rafael Thompson, these actions are part of the City Hall's integrated strategy to enhance public spaces and strengthen the feeling of security in the city.
– Quality public lighting is fundamental for the safe occupation of urban spaces. The interventions carried out in Bangu strengthen mobility, contribute to the safety of the population and directly support the operational actions of the Municipal Guard in the region – highlighted the president.
