Photo: Press Release/City Hall The Municipal Secretariat for People with Disabilities held the graduation ceremony for the 2025.2 class of the Basic Communication in Libras Course on Tuesday (December 9th), and awarded the Inclusion Partner Seal to the Special Group samba schools, in recognition of their collaboration in translating institutional videos into Libras. The event, at the Carlos Gomes Theater, celebrated the training of 383 new communicators and honored the Special Group samba schools that strengthen accessibility in the country's largest cultural spectacle.
According to Secretary Helena Werneck, the practice of Libras (Brazilian Sign Language) broadens access to information and public services.
What we saw today reinforces our commitment to building a more inclusive, welcoming, and accessible city for everyone.
The ceremony featured cultural presentations, including a theatrical performance by users of the Vila Isabel Municipal Reference Center for People with Disabilities (CMRPD), highlighting the artistic protagonism of people with disabilities.
Immediately afterwards, Vanessa Neves, coordinator of the Central Carioca de Libras (Rio de Janeiro Sign Language Center) - CCCIL, presented the Inclusion Partner Seal to the Special Group samba schools that have expanded policies aimed at accessibility.
