Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation extends registration period for the Young Scientists of Rio de Janeiro program

The Municipal Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (SMCT) has extended the registration period for the second edition of Jovens Cientistas Cariocas (JCC). The program, carried out in partnership with the Integrated Center for Studies and Programs for Sustainable Development (CIEDS), aims to strengthen initiatives by young scientists to find technological solutions to help communities in Rio. Registration has been extended until March 31.

The JCC seeks to foster 100 innovative initiatives and will offer R$800 per month to young university students over the course of six months. The goal is to foster the development of research projects that can be effectively applied to transform the territories near the 12 Knowledge Ships spread throughout the city of Rio.

To apply, you must be regularly enrolled in an undergraduate course recognized by the Ministry of Education at any public or private institution in the country; be a resident of Rio de Janeiro; and be over 18 years old.
