- Metropolitan Integration Secretariat promotes Seminar “Social Entrepreneurship: Women Who Generate Impact”
The seminar brings a reflection on the construction of a more just and inclusive society. Art: Disclosure/SEIM In the month that marks International Women's Day, the Rio Metropolitan Integration Secretariat is organizing its first seminar of 2025, highlighting the theme “Women Who Make an Impact”. The seminar will reflect on the importance of women at the center of social transformation and in building a more just and inclusive society. The event will take place on Wednesday (26/03), at the Ziembinski Municipal Theater, in Tijuca, from 14 pm to 16 pm, and will bring together exponents of female entrepreneurship.
One of the objectives of the seminar is to share good practices in the social, educational, inclusion, accessibility, cultural and environmental areas linked to entrepreneurship. The legacy of the event proposes reflection on the importance of these good practices and also inspiration through the testimonies of the guests present to contribute to different sectors of society.
The Secretary of Metropolitan Integration, Luis Santos, who will lead the seminar, emphasizes that the meeting goes beyond the competences of women in the process involving planning, organization and execution of activities, but as a necessity to drive social progress.
– The secretariat uses seminars as an effective tool for integration with the municipalities of the metropolitan region and with our municipality. And, for this special occasion, we brought together extremely competent speakers to talk about women’s ability to identify opportunities, create innovative ideas and transform these ideas into businesses – emphasizes Secretary Luis Santos.
The municipal secretary of Policies for Women and Care, Joyce Trindade, highlights the importance of cooperation between the secretariats in favor of the theme.
– This initiative by the Metropolitan Integration Secretariat is very timely, in this month that is so significant for women. It is a great pleasure for our secretariat to participate in actions in partnership with other city departments, especially those focused on transversality and sharing knowledge to stimulate entrepreneurship. Female financial autonomy is one of our main goals at the Women's Secretariat. Therefore, I am happy and congratulate the team for this seminar -, says Secretary Joyce Trindade.
The seminar will feature the participation of three renowned experts: Mariana Xavier, technical coordinator of the Secretariat of Policies for Women and Care, who will discuss public policies aimed at strengthening female entrepreneurship; Maria Beatriz Bley Costa, CEO of Green Rio and entrepreneur at IntegraRio, who will share experiences in sustainable business and the role of women in the green economy; and Emanuela Rainho, President of BPW Rio and co-author of the book “Lugar de Mulher é Onde Ela Quiser” (Women’s Place is Where She Wants). She will share insights on female leadership and strategies for overcoming barriers in entrepreneurship.
The event has a new feature, which is the presentation of the “Women who Generate Impact” award, in honor of the highlights of entrepreneurship in the programs and projects of the Special Secretariat for Metropolitan Integration.
