The Rio Municipal Health Department (SMS) has expanded the target audience for dengue vaccination to include adolescents aged 17 to 18. The measure will take effect on Friday (March 14) and will run until March 03 (Wednesday). The goal is to use the 26 remaining doses available to the priority group at the moment. The vaccine is also available to children and adolescents aged 50 to 10 who have not yet been vaccinated.

To receive the vaccine, you must go to a health unit with your ID and, if available, your vaccination card. The SMS reinforces that the dengue vaccine is safe and effective and has been approved by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa). The campaign is part of the federal government's National Immunization Program (PNI), with Brazil being the first country in the world to incorporate the vaccine into the public health network.

Vaccination is available at all 239 Primary Care units in the city, in addition to the Super Centro Carioca de Vacinação, in Botafogo, which is open every day from 8 am to 22 pm; and the Super Centro Carioca de Vacinação, Campo Grande unit, located at ParkShoppingCampoGrande, which is also open from Sunday to Sunday, according to the shopping center's opening hours.
