- Municipal Health Department updates number of beds for Covid-19 and occupancy rate in the capital's SUS network
In the municipal network units, there are 553 patients hospitalized, 259 of whom are in the ICU. Photo: Mariana Ramos / Rio City Hall The City of Rio, through the Municipal Health Department, informs that the municipal network is currently carrying out the absolute majority of Covid-19 care, since state and private hospitals have closed beds dedicated to treating the disease.
It is also important to highlight that the City of Rio is the only one that maintains a field hospital – the one at Riocentro – in operation, since units from other spheres did not even reach full operation – and that, recently, private partnerships with the government of the State of Rio demobilized field hospitals.
Municipal beds and rates
The municipal network has 881 beds for Covid-19. Of this total, 251 are ICU beds. The number of specialized beds in the network is greater than the demand for hospitalizations for treatment of the disease.
The occupancy rate of ICU beds for Covid-19 in the SUS network – which includes beds in municipal, state and federal units – in the municipality is 68%. The occupancy rate in the ward beds is 46%.
It is important to highlight that the municipal network did not close any ICU beds.
Hospitalizations
In the municipal network units, there are 387 hospitalized patients, 192 of whom are in the ICU.
The SUS network in the capital has 713 people hospitalized in specialized beds, 352 of which are in the ICU.
There is no waiting list, as there are beds for all patients included in the regulation system.
The State Regulatory System (SER) platform is currently inoperative. For this reason, it is not possible to inform how many people are in the process of being transferred to Covid-19 beds. in the SUS network of Metropolitan Region 1 – which includes the capital and municipalities of Baixada Fluminense – on the morning of this Wednesday (28/10).
