Several items were seized in the operation carried out in Taquara - Disclosure

The Jacarepaguá Subprefecture, together with the Public Order Secretariat (Seop), carried out a mega urban planning operation in the center of Taquara. The action was carried out on Wednesday (13/9) and Thursday (14/9) and brought together dozens of agents to curb illegal street vendors.

Various items were seized, including more than a thousand beverages, most of them in glass bottles, which is prohibited by law, around 70 electronic products, two freezers, a refrigerator, three Styrofoam boxes, a portable toilet and a barbecue grill. A large quantity of expired food items with no provenance was also seized by the agents.

Comlurb removed more than two thousand kilos of solid waste from a public place. The Licensing and Inspection Coordination (CLF) fined an establishment for illegal parking.

The deputy mayor of Jacarepaguá, Marli Peçanha, says that the operation was a request from the population.

– We are working to restore access to sidewalks for citizens. We also cleaned the bus terminal, where illegal businesses had taken up almost all the space for selling food products. It is unacceptable that people do not have space to walk. We are not against those who need to work, but the disorder needs to end. Rights were created for everyone. We will not allow this mess in Taquara.

During this Friday (15/9), the operation continues again through the streets of the neighborhood.
