The 25 Navezinhas Cariocas are accepting applications for free technology courses and workshops - Alice Calixto/ SMCT The Municipal Department of Science and Technology (SMCT) is accepting applications for 2.000 places on various free technology and entrepreneurship courses and workshops at the 25 Navezinhas Cariocas. The courses and workshops offered include: Introduction to Excel, Basic Computing, Introduction to ChatGPT, Photography, Robotics, Game Development, Microsoft Word, PC Assembly, Video Production for Social Media, Resume Creation, among others.
Navezinhas Cariocas are open from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 17 pm, and have laptops, audiovisual equipment, free internet access and a support team. Since the opening of the first unit in March of this year, Navezinhas has issued 4.454 certificates to students who passed the courses. The units promote the qualification of young people and adults in information technology for integration into the job market. Through the courses, participants can access and learn how to use digital media tools.
The Navezinhas are set up in peripheral areas of the city, in territories with high levels of social vulnerability, with a focus on implementing training strategies in new technologies. The spaces emerge as an innovative initiative with the aim of promoting the free democratization of knowledge, insertion into the job market, and exploring the potential of the new technology segment.
