The Rio Planetarium celebrates its 55th anniversary this Wednesday (November 19th), with free admission for visitors from 9 am to 5 pm. The initiative reinforces two objectives: to broaden access to science and encourage the study of astronomy. The Planetarium is linked to the Municipal Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation.

During the celebration, the Space Master and the Galileo Galilei Dome will be reopened. The Space Master, the first projection equipment at the Rio Planetarium, marked the beginning of the foundation's activities and became a symbol of the city's technological and scientific advancement. The Galileo Galilei Dome is one of the most symbolic spaces on the site.

And, in celebration of its 55th anniversary, registration for the free course "Identifying the Sky," the Planetarium's most popular course, will be open until the 24th. In addition to basic astronomy concepts, participants learn to recognize constellations. Those interested should access the link available on Instagram @planetariodorio.

The classes, on the 25th, 26th and 27th of this month, will be in person and, to guarantee the certificate, it is necessary to attend at least two of them. Spaces are limited.
