Secretariat of Science and Technology is present at Rio Innovation Week

The Sanbot robot will be one of the attractions at the SMTC stand - Rio City Hall The Municipal Department of Science and Technology was present every day at the first edition of Rio Innovation Week, the most comprehensive technology and innovation event in Latin America, which ended this Sunday (16/1), at the Jockey Club Brasileiro, in Gávea. At the stand set up in the Health Tech Tent, visitors were able to watch videos that presented the actions carried out by the department in 2021, and the department's projects for 2022, in addition to the distribution of printed material presenting the Knowledge Ships.
– Rio is experiencing a period of recovery and has the potential to become the technology and innovation capital of South America. Rio Innovation Week places the city as a protagonist and it was essential for us to be present at this event – explained Willian Coelho, Municipal Secretary of Science and Technology.
Another thing that caught the attention of visitors at the event was the Sanbot robot, a legacy of the 2016 Olympics and part of the collection of the Olympic Museum, located in the Nave do Conhecimento do Engenhão, in the North Zone of the city.
On Saturday (15/01), the undersecretary of Technological Projects and Innovation of SMCT, André Salvador, participated as a guest mediator in the speakers' table “Innovation in Public Health”, which took place at Tenda Health Tech.
