SMCT is taking the ICT Residency Project to the Naves do Conhecimento through an agreement signed last month with CIEDS. The initiative aims to promote a space for dialogue on the topic of technology and the job market, so that young people can get even closer to the universe that has been changing the scenario of different organizations in Brazil: Technology.
The project is carried out by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, coordinated by SOFTEX, executed by the Brisa Institute and implemented by CIEDS, with the support of SMCT.
– Initiatives like this aim to increasingly increase the possibilities, both for people to graduate and for them to effectively be able to rise to the great challenges of our time, which will certainly involve new technologies – stated Tatiana Roque, municipal secretary of Science and Technology.
In addition to the presence of the Secretary of Science and Technology, the event was attended by the general coordinator of Digital Innovation, of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Hamilton Mendes da Silva; the director-president of the Integrated Center for Studies and Programs of Sustainable Development, Vandré Brilhante; vice-president of the Brisa Institute, Solon Lemos; and professor Yuri Lima, who led the inaugural class with the theme “The Impact of Technology on the Job Market”.
In addition to the initial class, the event also included a presentation of the Project and a performance by the Wind Orchestra of the Brazilian Institute of Music and Education.
The ICT Residency Project aims to train 200 young people in advanced programming in 2023 and 2024 in the city of Rio de Janeiro. It is organized in three main stages: leveling, immersion (solving real challenges) and project-based learning. In this phase, everyone receives a stipend of 1.200 reais per month and a notebook to complete the challenges and demonstrate solutions.
