Comlurb Run and Walk in Copacabana - William Werneck / Comlurb Disclosure Comlurb employees, accompanied by family and friends, filled the track on Avenida Atlântica, on Copacabana Beach, on the morning of this Sunday (June 1st), to participate in Bora Correr!, a race and walk that brought together almost two thousand participants, closing the month of celebrations for the Company's 06th anniversary and Street Sweeper's Day, celebrated respectively on May 50th and 15th. The start was at 16 am, at Posto 8, near Praça do Lido. The race was 2 km long and the walk was 5 km long. The event is almost a tradition on Street Sweeper's Day. Last year, the race and walk took place at Quinta da Boa Vista.
– It was a great way to celebrate and bring employees together. This year was even more special because it brought the celebrations of the Company’s 50th anniversary to a happy close. Many people came to honor our employees, who are the soul and strength of our Company, at the race and walk in Copacabana. – said Comlurb’s president, Jorge Arraes, who ran the 5km route with the employees.
Those registered, wearing the event t-shirts, were able to use the subway and BRT free of charge. They also received a kit containing a t-shirt, a bag, a race number and a participation medal. The entire visual program for the event, including the t-shirt, was created by Comlurb's creative team based on a painting by street cleaner artist Oséias da Matta, who attended the event.
– I feel very honored and privileged to participate in this wonderful event. I hope there will be more of these in the future. There are a bunch of new people training hard and tirelessly for new races. – declared the winner in the men’s category, Thiago Felipe da Silva, a 40-year-old street cleaner who works in residential waste collection, working in the Muda management team.
