250 tons of gigogas have already been collected from the sands of Barra da Tijuca beach - Rio City Hall

From Friday (November 6) until dawn on Monday (January 11), Comlurb removed 9 tons of gigogas from the sands of Barra da Tijuca beach, in the city's West Zone. The company worked with a team of an average of 1 street cleaners and was supported by two front-end loaders, four beach tractors, five dump trucks and a compactor. The gigogas removal service continues, as plants are still arriving on the beach. It is worth remembering that Comlurb only removes the gigogas that reach the sands; it is not responsible for cleaning the lagoon.
