Comlurb worked all day until the early evening during the events of the September 7th holiday to deliver a clean city to the population the following day. 32,3 tons of waste were removed from Aterro do Flamengo and Copacabana, in the South Zone, and Rua Uruguaiana with Avenida Presidente Vargas, in the Center.

In Copacabana, where the military parade took place, a team of 120 street cleaners worked to remove 31,1 tons. The work was supported by two compactor trucks. The company made 300 containers available, in addition to 20 metal boxes of 1.200 liters, on the Copacabana beachfront so that participants could dispose of them correctly. Comlurb worked with 60 street cleaners along the Aterro do Flamengo, where 864 kilos of trash were collected. In the city center, the operation involved 20 street cleaners and removed 368 kilos of waste.

During the entire operation, the following equipment was also used: three large sweepers, 10 blowers, four water tankers and four car wash vans to wash the roads with reused water.
