With this new unit, the Company now has 96 voluntary delivery points in all regions of the city since 2022, very close to the goal of 100 eco-points by the end of the year. The opening event of the new facility was attended by Chegando de Surpresa, a group of sanitation workers who use music and dance in awareness campaigns.
The new facility is located on the corner of Rua Aratangi and Avenida Pastor Martin Luther King Jr., and features a compacting container for household waste and two multi-purpose containers for construction debris and unusable items such as furniture, mattresses, appliances, and tree branches. Currently, the company has already recorded 20% less garbage thrown on the streets, equivalent to approximately 1.600 tons of waste per day that now have the correct destination.
