Comlurb opens the 15th ecopoint of the year, at Morro dos Macacos, in Vila Isabel - Disclosure/ Comlurb Comlurb opened the Recanto do Trovador recycling center this Friday (22/11) to serve residents of Morro dos Macacos, in Vila Isabel. This is the 15th recycling center launched this year and the 60th since the beginning of the current administration, in 2021. The new unit was installed at Rua Armando de Albuquerque s/nº, in Parque Recanto do Trovador. The recycling center has a 15 cubic meter compactor to receive household waste and two others for rubble, branches and useless goods.
Comlurb president Flávio Lopes highlighted the importance of the new space for the residents of Morro dos Macacos:
– Today we opened another important waste disposal point in the city. This recycling point will improve the quality of life in this region, which has several public facilities, such as schools, daycare centers, clinics, shelters, among others, and we could not accept that garbage would be left scattered on the streets – stressed Flávio Lopes.
The locations chosen for the installation of recycling points are especially communities and regions that register more critical areas of irregular disposal. The recycling points help in the organization of waste and in the control of vectors, bringing a better quality of life to the residents and improving public health.
The recycling point was created in partnership with the Greater Tijuca Subprefecture. Deputy Mayor Filipe Quintans reaffirmed the importance of the new space for the residents of that community:
– This recycling point will put an end to the irregular disposal of garbage in this part of the community. It will be a completely new place that will bring more dignity to the residents of Macacos. The Subprefecture is always attentive to the requests of the residents to make Grande Tijuca even better – said Filipe Quintans.
The other recycling points launched this year were: Recreio; Paim Pamplona, in Sampaio; Acari; Santo Amaro (first semi-underground recycling point), in Catete; Pavão/Pavãozinho and Cantagalo, in Ipanema; Borda do Mato, in Grajaú; Petrarca, in Padre Miguel; Barros Filho; Tribo and Guarabu, on Governador Island; Vila Kennedy and Avenida Brasil, in Bangu; Santa Maria, in Taquara; Sertão, in Anil; and Alemão, in the Alemão Complex.
