Comlurb opens two more recycling points in the West Zone

Comlurb delivered two more recycling points to the population of the West Zone this Thursday (25/1), in the communities of Vila Kennedy and Petrarca, the latter located on Avenida Brasil, near Padre Miguel. Both locations have two stationary 5 m³ boxes for receiving household waste, rubble, useless goods and branches, and are open daily from 6 am to 18 pm, to receive waste from residents. With the inauguration, the Company has launched four new recycling points this year, the first two being Tribo and Guarabu, both on Ilha do Governador.

In 2023, Comlurb closed the year with 25 new recycling points launched in the city. In 2022, another 20 recycling points were opened.

Comlurb is renovating and installing new recycling points in several areas of the city, especially in areas with the highest risk of irregular waste disposal and in communities. In this way, the Company ensures that previously degraded areas now have organized points, with regular removal carried out by trucks. In addition to being essential for organizing waste, recycling points help control vectors and improve public health.
