Comlurb opens the first two recycling bins in 2024 on Governador Island

Comlurb delivered the first two recycling bins of the year to the population of the Guarabu and Tribo communities on Governador Island, in the North Zone, on the morning of Wednesday (10/1). Both locations will be open daily from 6 am to 18 pm. The recycling bin in Guarabu is located on Berna Street, opposite number 142. In Tribo, the unit was installed on Cabo Fleury Street, s/nº. Both have two bins, one stationary, with a capacity of 5 m³, for receiving rubble, useless goods and branches, and a 15 m³ compactor, for household waste.

The Company is renovating and installing new recycling points in several regions of the city, especially in areas with the highest risk of irregular waste disposal and in communities. In this way, Comlurb ensures that previously degraded locations now have organized points, with regular removal carried out by trucks. In addition to being essential for organizing waste, recycling points help control vectors and improve public health. The Company closed 2023 with 25 new recycling points in the city. In 2022, there were another 22.
