Comlurb opens Ecoponto Vila Vintém, the 11th in 2023

On the morning of Friday (1/12), Comlurb opened the Ecoponto Vila Vintém, at Praça do Trabalhador, in Padre Miguel, in the West Zone, the 11th in 2023 alone. It has two stationary 5m³ boxes for receiving rubble, useless goods and branches. It will be open from 6 am to 18 pm, Monday to Saturday, and from 6 am to 13 pm, on Sundays and holidays. The expectation is that a series of Ecopontos will be opened by the end of December, totaling 25 in total. In 2022, 22 were launched.

On Thursday (30/11), the Company had already put into operation two other Ecopontos, José de Arimatéa, in Cidade de Deus, which has two stationary 5 m³ boxes for receiving rubble, useless goods and branches, and a closed 15 m³ compactor box, intended for household waste. In the Areal community, in Rio das Pedras, the Leonel Brizola Ecoponto was inaugurated, which has two stationary 5 m³ boxes for receiving rubble, useless goods and branches, and two compactor boxes intended for household waste.

Comlurb is renovating and installing new Ecopoints in several areas of the city, but especially in areas that are more critical for irregular waste disposal in communities. In this way, the Company ensures that previously degraded locations now have organized disposal points, with regular removal carried out by trucks. In addition to being essential for organizing waste, Ecopoints help control vectors and improve public health.

The other Ecopoints launched this year, so far, are: Praia da Rosa and Boogie Woogie (Governor Island), Costa Barros (Botafogo Road), Manguinhos (Embratel Complex), Teixeira Brandão (Juliano Moreira Colony), New Hope (Blue Gardenia), Nova Divinéia (Grajaú) and Mata Machado (Alto da Boa Vista).
