Comlurb opens Catiri and Pedra de Guaratiba recycling points

Comlurb installed two more recycling points in the city this Thursday (August 21st): Ecoponto Catiri, in Bangu, and Ecoponto Pedra de Guaratiba, both in the West Zone. The musical group Chegando de Surpresa, made up of street cleaners who sing awareness-raising songs, participated in the inaugurations. The company now has 8 recycling points in operation since 76, throughout the city.

The Catiri Ecopoint has a compacting bin for household waste and two stationary bins for rubble, branches, and unusable goods, such as furniture and appliances. The Pedra de Guaratiba Ecopoint has one compacting bin for household waste and one for rubble, branches, and unusable goods. Both locations are open from 6:18 AM to XNUMX:XNUMX PM.

 

In addition to these two, Comlurb has already launched 13 other recycling points this year alone: ​​São Carlos, in Estácio; Vila dos Sonhos, in Caju; Biquinha, in Vidigal; Jupará, in Mangueira; Bandeirantes Housing Complex, in the César Maia Community; Campo Grande, on Maria Teresa Street; São Tomé, in Santa Cruz; Rocinha; Chácara do Céu, in Borel; Fazendinha, in the Alemão Complex; Águia de Ouro, in Inhaúma; Chácara do Céu, in Leblon; and Parque Proletário, in the Penha Complex. The locations chosen for the installation are especially communities and regions that have more critical areas of irregular waste disposal.

Ecopoints help organize waste and control vectors, improving the quality of life for residents and improving public health.
