Comlurb opens three Ecopoints in the West Zone of the city
Published on 29/11/2023 - 14:26 | UpdatedComlurb will open the Ecopoints of José de Arimatéa, in Cidade de Deus, and Leonel Brizola, in Areal, Rio das Pedras, on the morning of Thursday (30/11), and the Ecopoint of Vila Vintém, in Praça do Trabalhador, in Padre Miguel, on Friday (1/12). With these, there are 11 new Ecopoints launched this year. The forecast is that a series will be opened by the end of December, totaling 25 in total. In 2022, 22 were launched.
– We are opening many Ecopoints because we believe that this is the best way to encourage residents to dispose of waste correctly, especially in communities that have received great attention from Comlurb and the City Hall – summarized the president of Comlurb, Flávio Lopes.
Almost all Ecopoints have at least three bins, two of which are stationary, 5m3, open to receive rubble, useless goods and branches, and a 15m3, closed compactor, intended for household waste. The sites are open every day from 7am to 19pm.
Comlurb is renovating and installing new Ecopoints in several areas of the city, but especially in areas with the highest risk of irregular waste disposal and in communities. In this way, the Company ensures that previously degraded areas now have organized waste disposal points, with regular removal carried out by trucks. In addition to being essential for organizing waste, Ecopoints help control vectors and improve public health.
The Ecopoints launched this year, so far, are: Praia da Rosa and Boogie Woogie (Governor Island), Costa Barros (Botafogo Road), Manguinhos (Embratel Complex), Teixeira Brandão (Juliano Moreira Colony), New Hope (Blue Gardenia), Nova Divinéia (Grajaú) and Mata Machado (Alto da Boa Vista).
