Comlurb has prepared a special cleaning scheme on Rua Intendente Magalhães - Rio City Hall Comlurb has prepared a special cleaning operation for the access series parades that will be held on Estrada Intendente Magalhães. On February 10th, the samba schools linked to the Federation of Carnival Blocks of the State of Rio de Janeiro will perform. The parades of the samba schools of the Silver, Bronze and Evaluation Series will be held on February 02th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 16th. Each day will have up to 17 street cleaners, 02 urban cleaning agents and 101 support leaders, totaling 17 professionals directly involved with the festivities. The workers will perform sweeping services and remove waste and will have the support of five compactor trucks, two satellite-type collection vehicles, three large sweepers, three medium-sized sweepers, two mini-sweepers, three water tankers and two high-pressure water pump vans to wash the parade track with reused water. Along the entire route of Avenida Intendente Magalhães, the stage for the parades, and surrounding streets, 33 151-liter containers will be made available.
Due to the parades, nighttime household waste collection in the area around Intendente Magalhães will exceptionally be brought forward to 8 am on February 10, 13 and 17. The change includes the following streets: Maria José Street (from Domingos Lopes Street to Carlos Xavier Street); Intendente Magalhães Road (from Largo do Campinho to Carlos Xavier Street); Ernani Cardoso Avenue (from Largo do Campinho to Padre Telêmaco Street); Diniz Barreto Street (entire extension); Capitão Couto Menezes Street (from Maria Lopes Street to Intendente Magalhães Street); Lavradores Street (entire extension) and Carlos Xavier Street (from Intendente Magalhães Road to Maria José Street). The company asks that residents place their trash for removal only one hour before the garbage truck is scheduled to arrive.
