Comlurb has set up a special cleaning program for the festivities in honor of Saint George, this Tuesday (23/4), in the vicinity of the two main parishes: both in the main church, in Quintino, and in the city center. In Quintino, Comlurb will have 162 street cleaners and 16 urban cleaning agents, who will perform general cleaning, sweeping and removing waste, in addition to hydraulic washing with reused water. The service will be carried out on Rua Clarimundo de Melo and surrounding streets, and will begin at 6 am, with the work expected to be completed by Wednesday morning. Among the vehicles and equipment, 15 trucks will be used, including compactors and dump trucks, in addition to three water tankers and four large sweepers. On Monday, starting at 14 pm, the main and secondary roads will receive pre-cleaning service, to leave the stage ready for the celebration of the faithful.
In the Center, a pre-cleaning will be carried out between the end of Monday night and the early hours of Tuesday, throughout the parish, including Rua da Alfândega, Praça da República and Avenida Presidente Vargas, as part of the Calçada de Responsa project, which includes hydraulic cleaning of the streets, including reinforcement at urine points, with two water tankers, and spraying of eucalyptus essence, with 20 street cleaners.
Cleaning will be maintained throughout Tuesday, in three shifts, with another 45 street cleaners, extending until the early hours of Wednesday. Waste removal trucks and a sweeper will support the operation. The company will provide 50 containers for the correct disposal of waste by the faithful.
