Comlurb prepares special cleaning operation for the São Sebastião procession

In addition to the Metropolitan Cathedral, in the Center, there will be masses in Vigário Geral, Bento Ribeiro and Praia do Cocotá - Disclosure/Comlurb Comlurb has scheduled a special operation to ensure the cleanliness of the procession of Saint Sebastian, patron saint of the city of Rio de Janeiro, a date that will be celebrated this Monday, January 20th. The procession leaves from the Capuchinhos Church, on Haddock Lobo Street, in Rio Comprido, and has as its final destination the Metropolitan Cathedral, on Chile Avenue, in the city center. The company will work with 01 street cleaners to sweep and remove waste before, during and after the procession, with the support of two large street sweepers, four water tankers to wash the streets with recycled water and a mixture of detergent and hypochlorite, and a collection truck.
The Company has installed 35 240-liter containers and 16 large-capacity 1.200-liter boxes at strategic points along the procession route and around the Cathedral, so that the faithful can dispose of their waste correctly. Comlurb asks that everyone collaborate by depositing their waste in the available containers.
The festivities in honor of the Patron Saint will extend to the external areas of three other parishes. In Vigário Geral, there will be 13 street cleaners, who will perform the cleaning service with the support of a compactor truck, a satellite truck, a blower and a water tanker to wash the streets with reused water; in Bento Ribeiro, there will be 12 street cleaners, who will have the support of a compactor, a satellite, a blower and a water tanker; in Praia de Cocotá, on Ilha do Governador, there will be 12 street cleaners, who will work with a compactor truck, a blower and a water tanker.
Comlurb will also have a cleaning team at Aterro do Flamengo, starting at 6 am, where the São Sebastião Race takes place.
