Comlurb: Shakira's show will feature the largest cleaning infrastructure ever for major events held in Copacabana.

Comlurb has put together a special operational cleaning plan for the free concert on Copacabana Beach on May 2nd. The company is mobilizing a contingent of 02 sanitation workers, distributed in shifts and organized by strategic sectors, covering the beach area, bike paths, boardwalk, Avenida Atlântica, and main access roads.

105 pieces of equipment and 100 vehicles will be used in the operation, with emphasis on water tanker trucks, motor pump vans and jet washers, consolidating the largest hydraulic cleaning operation ever carried out by the Company at an event on the city's waterfront, surpassing the operation for the Lady Gaga show last year.

The team will be deployed on Avenida Atlântica and the main access roads to the venue, including the areas around the Cardeal Arcoverde and Cantagalo metro stations, before and after the event. The operation will involve the use of recycled water, as well as the application of 2 liters of detergent and 500 liters of eucalyptus essence.

The operation, similar to the New Year's Eve operation, will begin at midnight on Saturday, the 2nd, and continue until the evening of Sunday, the 3rd. In total, removal tractors, sand screening tractors, mini screening machines, mechanical shovels, dump trucks, compactor trucks, large sweepers, mini sweepers and electric carts will be mobilized, in addition to blowers and backpack sprayers.

To reinforce the proper disposal of waste, 2 240-liter containers and another 250 large-capacity containers, with 1.200 liters each, will be installed along the beach and boardwalk of Avenida Atlântica. In addition, each of the three medical posts set up by the Municipal Health Department—located on Avenida Princesa Isabel, Praça do Lido, and Rua República do Líbano—will have the support of three sanitation workers from the company.

The main change for residents of Copacabana will be the suspension of regular garbage collection on Saturday night, the 2nd. The service will exceptionally be carried out on Sunday, the 3rd, starting at 19 pm, serving both residential buildings and commercial establishments.

The company requests the cooperation of the public to refrain from dumping waste on the streets of the neighborhood on Saturday night, and instead dispose of it only in the early evening on Sunday. To reinforce this message, informational materials will be distributed in buildings and businesses in the area.
