Comlurb removed 287 tons of waste from Copacabana Beach after the mega cleanup operation for Madonna's concert. Zero Waste inspector teams issued 27 fines for irregular disposal of small waste and irregular advertising. The mega operation involved 1.518 street cleaners divided into three work shifts.
The cleaning included the main cross roads of Copacabana, including washing the streets with recycled water. From 22 pm onwards, the service was intensified, and the entire beach and surrounding area were clean by the early hours of Sunday (5/5).
The company made 1.500 240-liter containers available on the sand and sidewalk of Avenida Atlântica and main access roads, including subway stations, for the correct disposal of waste. Comlurb had more than 65 vehicles, 18 of which were exclusively for hydraulic cleaning with reused water and 38 pieces of equipment, with ten tractors that screened the sand before and after the show.
