On Friday (March 20th), Comlurb carried out the Clean Fair Operation at Nossa Senhora da Paz Square in Ipanema. The Clean Fair program is a mega-operation for the organization, collection, and management of waste generated by market vendors, and is always carried out on this day of the week in the neighborhood. The Integrated Operation involves the Comlurb Fair Coordination, the Public Order Secretariat, and the South Zone Subprefecture. The operation is already carried out on Sundays at the Glória Fair.

The company has installed 350 240-liter containers and 20 1.200-liter containers at various points in the square so that vendors and consumers can properly dispose of their waste.

The actions go beyond the routine cleaning work already carried out by Comlurb at the end of the city's open-air markets, which includes sweeping the entire area and its surroundings, as well as hydraulic washing with reused water. The Company requests the cooperation of the market vendors to ensure that waste is properly stored in containers or plastic bags to facilitate the work of the sanitation workers and further expedite the cleaning service and the return of the sites to residents of the area.

The group Chegando de Surpresa, composed of sanitation workers who sing awareness songs, participated in the action, providing guidance to market vendors and consumers on the correct disposal of waste at the market.
