On Saturday, the action takes place at Praia do Leme, while on Sunday it will be from Arpoador to Posto 9 - Disclosure As part of the Clean Beach program, which includes an increase in the number of street cleaners and equipment during the summer, Comlurb is promoting another awareness campaign on the beaches this weekend, with the participation of street cleaner Renato Sorriso and the Chegando de Surpresa group, made up of street cleaners who sing songs that deal with the correct disposal of waste in a humorous way. On Saturday (24/1), the action will take place at Praia do Leme and, on Sunday (25/1), the event will be from Arpoador to Posto 9, in Ipanema, always starting at 15 pm, to take advantage of the arrival and departure of bathers during the busiest time.
During the summer, Comlurb has more than 500 street cleaners on weekends and holidays, who work with the support of beach tractors with rear attachments that sift the sand, and mini cleaning machines, which do the same job as the tractors, but reach places they cannot, such as along rocks and between sports nets. The beach cleaning service also includes small, medium and large sweepers that help with sweeping the boardwalks, cycle paths and tracks; water tankers for hydraulic cleaning of boardwalks, cycle paths and tracks, as well as electric carts for removing waste, which are environmentally sustainable, noiseless, non-polluting and low cost, since they only need to be recharged by electricity.
Comlurb has made approximately 5 containers available at strategic points along the city's coastline, including access roads and passages, including those with large capacity for disposing of coconuts. The company is appealing to beachgoers to use the containers distributed along the coastline when leaving the beach to make the work of street cleaners easier and to speed up the beach cleaning service.
